Ashley John and her Father Simon would like to welcome you to August Point Lodge in Zeballos, Vancouver Island. Ashley has built her beautiful B&B-style lodge right at the head of Zeballos Inlet with beautiful views of the town of Zeballos and the inlet whilst Simon runs the guides for her.

Ashley John
Ashley is your host at the lodge and will ensure you are well taken care of during your entire stay. From booking shuttle services to fishing charters, Ashely will ensure that you have an unforgettable experience on land and on the water. Ashley, who is from the local Ehattesaht First Nation, grew up in Zeballos and loves sharing her “home” with visitors from British Columbia, other parts of Canada and from around the world. Ashely grew up fishing with her dad, Simon, and spent many summers on the boat hearing stories about her culture and learning to catch fish.
HOST & OWNER
Simon John
Simon is from the Ehattesaht Nation and has been a fishing guide for 22 years. His past work included guiding for many renowned fishing lodges along the west coast and his expertise is often requested to train other local guides. Simon loves sharing the day-to-day life of the Ehattesaht and Chinehkint people and how to live off the land. On his tours, guests enjoy to learn how the locals have developed their lifestyle around the natural resources, the land and the seasons. Simon grew up in the village of Queens Cove.

TROY John
Troy John grew up on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in the Village of Zeballos. He started traveling and learning the waters at a young age. Troy had the luxury of growing up around the various inlets near Zeballos fishing for; Halibut, Chinook, Coho, Lingcod, and other common catches. During the different seasons of the year Troy enjoys his time on commercial boats working with Prawns, Black Cod, Slime Eels, Hake, Halibut.

Tallon Justin
Tallon Justin, a passionate and experienced fishing guide from Kyuquot, Vancouver Island, developed his love for fishing early on, fishing with his father. At 12, he began working at a fishing lodge, gaining valuable knowledge about the ocean and fishing. His teen years were spent learning the intricacies of marine life and angling as a commercial troller crew member. By 17, Tallon became a guide, known for his dedication and expertise despite his young age. Today, he charters unforgettable fishing expeditions, sharing his deep understanding and enthusiasm for the ocean and angling with his guests.
